Kondisi ini dapat terjadi pada siapa saja. Namun, orang lanjut usia, terutama wanita, berisiko lebih tinggi mengalami osteopenia. Penderita osteopenia memiliki tingkat kepadatan tulang lebih rendah dari batasan normalnya. Namun, sebagian orang dengan osteopenia mungkin merasa nyeri pada tulang, tetapi hal ini jarang sekali terjadi.<\/p>\n<p>Pada dasarnya, pertambahan usia membuat kemampuan tubuh dalam meregenerasi tulang akan mengalami penurunan.
